I realized I never properly introduced myself. My audience initially began with people who already knew me quite well, but much has happened since then.
So, hello! My name is Mica Sage (or just Mica, like the mineral). My given name meant fortitude and I changed it to mean fortunate wisdom. You could say it’s more of the same thing, but I digress. My pronouns are they/she — I identify as a “beyond binary” woman. Maybe I’ll discuss my gender journey at some point.
My bio here says I am “three raccoons in a coat pretending to be an adult”, and that is still probably the most accurate description of me. I am easily bribed with food, a little feisty, quickly distracted, and too brazen for my own good. Under no circumstance do I know what I’m doing, but I’m having fun with it, anyway.
For the astrologically inclined, I’m an Aries sun, Leo rising, and Leo moon, but so far nobody (even well trained astrologers) has guessed my signs correctly — much to my eternal amusement. (“You have great Scorpio eyebrows” was one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard.)
I write about a lot of things, which I’ve taken to calling my “mental acorns”. A small seed can grow into a giant oak tree, and a small idea can alter a lifetime. Much of my perspective comes from pagan, earth-centered spirituality, as well as divination practices such as pulling tarot cards.
I’m participating in NanoPoblano (a spin-off of National Blog Posting Month) for November, so I’ll also be including more poetry and short stories. For this month, my comments are open to all, and nothing will be posted behind a paywall. However, if you enjoy what I write and would like to support me, there are options of free or paid subscriptions. Regardless, you have my gratitude, simply for being here with me.
Do you know your astrology placements? What do people always get wrong about you? What can you be bribed with?
I love this line so much: "I write about a lot of things, which I’ve taken to calling my “mental acorns”. A small seed can grow into a giant oak tree, and a small idea can alter a lifetime." I'm looking forward to this month of feral (in my case) posts. :-)
Hi! Virgo sun & moon, libra rising. And I love you. :)
